Your Complete Guide to Registration, Exams & Verification

Getting a license from the Punjab Pharmacy Council isn’t just a legal thing—it means you’re serious about keeping up the standards of a job that the council says is about saving lives.

If you want to be a pharmacist in Punjab, you have to meet the Punjab Pharmacy Council’s (PPC) rules first. Made by the Pharmacy Act of 1967, the PPC is in charge of watching over pharmacy work to keep the public safe and make sure pharmacists act right. This guide tells you what you need to know, like who can register, how to do it, when the exams are, and how to renew your license.

1. Understanding the Punjab Pharmacy Council (PPC)

Located in Lahore, the Punjab Pharmacy Council is the main group that regulates pharmacy work in the province. It aims to oversee the profession, keep records of qualified people, and make sure they continue to meet the standards for serving the community.

Working with federal laws, the council does things like approve schools, give tests for Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants, and handle the registration and renewal process for all working pharmacists. By keeping up these rules, the PPC makes sure that only skilled and qualified professionals are in charge of public health duties.

2. Registration Categories & Eligibility Criteria

The PPC has different lists for each qualification level. To apply right, know your category. What’s needed to qualify depends on the list you’re on.

Register A-Pharmacist

This registration is only for certified pharmacists.
To be eligible, you need either a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) recognized school.
A key thing you’ll need is to have finished a required internship.
You also have to be at least 18 years old to apply.

RegisterB-Pharmacy Technician & Pharmacy Assistant

Here’s what you need to know about registering as pharmacy support staff:

There are two main ways to register:

Pharmacy Technician: You’ll need to have completed 10th grade with science subjects. To register, complete a two-year course at an approved school. You can’t apply to the PPC directly; you have to go through a school that’s recognized.

Pharmacy Assistant: You’ll need to have completed 10th grade with science or general science. To register, complete a two-year apprenticeship with a registered pharmacist; then, you have to pass the PPC exam.

Here’s a quick look at the PPC registration categories:

| Category | Register | Minimum Education | How to Register | Exam Body |
| Pharmacist | A | D.Pharm / B.Pharm | Degree + Internship + PPC Application | Institution & PPC |
| Pharmacy Technician | B | Matric (Science) | Two-Year Course at PPC Institute | PPC & NTS |
| Pharmacy Assistant | B | Matric (Science/Gen. Sci.) | Two-Year Apprenticeship + PPC Exam | PPC |

3. Step-by-Step Registration Process

Registration steps depend on what you’re signing up for. Here’s a simple guide based on the official process.

For Pharmacists (Register-A)

Finish School and Internship: Make sure you have your pharmacy degree and have completed your internship.
Get Your Paperwork Ready: Collect your degree, transcripts, internship certificate, ID copy, and photos.
Apply Online: Usually, you’ll need to apply through the official website. Make sure you only use the forms and websites listed on the official PPC website.
Pay and Send It In: Pay the registration fee and send your application with all the needed documents so they can check it.
Get Your Certificate: If everything checks out, the PPC will send you your registration certificate.

For Pharmacy Technicians & Assistants (Register-B)

Pharmacy Technician:

If you finish our two-year program, our school will guide you through registration. You can find the forms to apply and register on the PPC website.

Pharmacy Assistant:

1. Complete a two-year apprenticeship with a licensed pharmacist.
2. Get the needed application and registration forms from the Downloads area of the PPC site.
3. Send in the filled-out forms with your apprenticeship papers, high school certificate, and ID.
4. Take and pass the PPC test after your apprenticeship.
Important Note:
The PPC often cautions about scams. Watch out for anyone on social media who says they can guarantee results or certificates if you pay them. Always work directly with the official PPC.

4. Examinations, Renewals & Key Services

 PPC Exams and Your License

The Punjab Pharmacy Council (PPC) handles exams for Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians. When it comes to the Pharmacy Technician supplementary exams, the PPC partners with the National Testing Service (NTS). They handle the test itself and give out your roll number slips. Make sure you have your original CNIC (or B-Form if you’re under 18) and your original roll number slip when you head to the exam center.

 Keeping Your Registration Current

Keep in mind that your PPC registration needs to be renewed regularly. It’s not a one-time thing. You have to keep your license active if you want to keep practicing.

How much? The yearly renewal fee is Rs. 5,000.

How to Renew:
You can renew in person or by mail, depending on what works best for you. You’ll typically need to provide a written application, your original registration certificate, and a demand draft for the fee.

If You’re Overseas:
If you’re living abroad, email scanned copies of your visa, passport, CNIC, and registration certificate to punjabpharmacycouncil@hotmail.com along with the fee.
Other Services
The PPC can also help you get duplicate certificates if yours is lost, damaged, or if you’ve changed your name. They also issue Good Standing Letters. You can find all the forms you need for these services in the Downloads area of their website.
